WORKSHOPS AND COURSES

Hannah will be running School workshops throughout the year on books and animation for children at local schools in Norfolk and Suffolk and Essex.

She is able to work with all age groups from tiny tots, to teenagers and invites humour and interaction with the audience, as a way of learning.

Hannah will be working for Creative Partnerships at Howard Junior School, in Kings Lynn from January til April 2011. She is working with the children to create their own stories about animals which they will illustrate and make into books to take home. Then the whole class will be creating a 'giant group book' focused around fictionalising local history, with visits to local castles and imagining what kind of ghosts might still be wafting through the corridors!

Hannah will also be working with Rockland St Mary, primary school in Norfolk in April 2011, brainstorming with the kids and supporting them in their work towards illustrating their very own books and developing their own ideas.

PAINTING COURSES AT HANNAH'S STUDIO

Hannah is currently trying to renovate her big barn (this picture is not her but Kate Edwards of www.edwardsecobuilding.com) by adding clay lump and straw to the walls so that she can run workshops and gatherings from home. But it is currently filled with junk, old apples, tools and mud.... even though one day it will be filled with people, paintings and cups of tea.... So sorry no workshops at present as Hannah is busy painting and creating new children's books (when she can brush the clay and mud off her clothes!)

SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

Hannah Giffard - BAFTA winning children's book author, and creator of the animation series 'Pablo The Little Red Fox', will be giving workshops this year in East Anglian schools. You can book her for your school's book week or get animated about an animation workshop!

Each workshop is focused towards a particular age-group, incorporating key stage 1 and 2 literacy requirements. Hannah also shows large amounts of original artwork from her portfolio and using PowerPoint where appropriate, to describe the development of an idea, working on text and visuals, through to the finished book and TV animation.

Hannah is happy to work with a variety of age groups from 4 – 18 year olds, tailoring the workshop around their abilities and requirements.

Hannah will run 3 sessions per day and is happy to talk to a large number of children at once.
